Prussia Iron Cross 2st Class 1813
The Iron Cross was established in 1813 by King Frederick William III of Prussia during the Napoleonic Wars. The Second Class was worn on the chest with a black-white-black ribbon and was the most frequently awarded rank. The front of the cross is plain, while the reverse side features the Prussian crown, the "FW" monogram, an oak wreath, and the year of its founding, 1813. This original design of the Iron Cross is considered the precursor to all subsequent versions and holds significant historical importance.
