Hungarian Order of Merit - Knight's Cross
The Hungarian Order of Merit – Knight's Cross is a state order of merit of Hungary, re-established in its modern form in 1946 and drawing on older Hungarian traditions of orders and decorations. The order recognizes outstanding civilian service to the Hungarian state, particularly in the fields of politics, administration, science, culture, economics, and diplomacy. The version without swords explicitly denotes non-military achievements.
