Austria, Order of the Golden Fleece, 4th type
The Austrian Order of the Golden Fleece, 4th type is the newest and most current variant of the historical order, which was originally founded in 1430 by Duke Philip the Good of Burgundy and later came under the rule of the Habsburgs. This 4th type of the order continued after the Second World War and the dissolution of the Habsburg Empire, but under changed conditions. The award and the significance of the order in the 4th type are strongly linked to the political changes and the new world order of the 20th century.
